Dark Traffic Areas on Your Carpet?

Do you ever wonder why your carpets are showing a darkening in the traffic areas when you vacuum constantly and don’t wear outdoor shoes indoors?

One of the worst culprits for dark traffic lane soiling in a home (especially light coloured carpet) is black ‘rubber’ soled slippers or shoes. Pure rubber is not black – it is cream coloured. Most black soled footwear is made from petroleum based products with dye added. The ‘dark oils’ in the ‘rubber’ leach out onto the carpet and over time create a darkened traffic path in even the cleanest of homes.

So invest in a pair of light-coloured soled shoes, or better yet, shoes with real rubber (crepe) soles. This will eliminate premature darkening of the traffic areas throughout your home.
